2015 has been a significant year for FAA in terms of development and progress. We launched the FAA Certified Training Professional course in May, and we are proud to say that it has been well received by the local and international industry.
We have also seen a steadily growing interest in the FAA Learning Standards (FLS) and are already working on harmonising these standards to the Finance Qualifications Structure (FQS). This will the standards more easily accessible to the industry at large and will also facilitate the mapping of programmes to a unified structure. I am confident that 2016 will see the FLS used in the development of learning programmes for the Financial Services Industry (FSI) across the globe.
FAA is also in the midst of developing the Islamic Finance Professional Programme Structure (IFPPS) which is an industry-wide professional structure for the Islamic Finance Services Industry (IFSI). The IFPPS is envisioned to be an important pivot in the development of high quality IFSI professional programmes, which will support the strengthening of competencies for human capital in the IFSI across the globe.
The outcome of these initiatives will help the FSI understand the importance of accreditation to ensure high quality and structured learning relevant to the talent development in the FSI.
We will be launching the FAA Recognition of Learning (FRL) which will see the accreditation of individuals and which will increase the competitiveness of employees as their competency levels are benchmarked against international industry learning standards. The FRL will also benefit the employer as it will help human resource in strategising recruitment and training, and provide an effective way to utilise and maximise existing skills.
The FAA team has grown stronger and we have what we need to keep serving the industry and to help create high quality learning initiatives. I appreciate the FAA team’s great work and support in 2015. Together we look forward to new challenges in 2016 and to continued success. While there is much work to do and there may be further challenges ahead, we end 2015 stronger and better able to serve our stakeholders.
